ARTICLE X

Section 1 - Starting Date

1.1 The first day ofpractice is determined by the Section.

Section 2 - Official Rules

2.1 The official rule book shall be the National Federation of State High School Association rule book.

Section 3 - Contacts

3.1 The number of contacts allowed is determined by the Section.

Section 4 - Game Times

4.1 All meets shall start at 3:30 Revised February 9, 2005

Section 5 - Game Results

5.1 The host school shall be responsible to notify the media with results. Revised February 9, 2005

Section 6 - Change in Classification

6.1 During pre-league games athletes may move from one classification to another. In league play a player may move only to a higher classification. An athlete may not participate in more than one classification in one day.
6.2 At the Conference meet, athletes may be moved from a higher classification to a lower classification (if school year appropriate).

Section 7 - Schedule and Roster Exchange.

7.1 A meeting shall be called by the sports coordinator no later than one week prior to the start of league play.
7.1.1 Rosters of all school teams shall be exchanged by the coaches at this meeting. Information to include players name, jersey number and year in school.
7.1.2 Complete season schedules shall be exchanged by the coaches at this meeting
7.2 Failure of a coach to submit a roster will result in forfeiture of all games played until the roster is turned into the sports coordinator.

Section 8 - Championship

8.1 The championship shall be determined by results of the league meets and the conference Meet. Teams shall receive points for meets according to the follow scale:
1st = 10 points
2nd = 9 points
3rd= 8 points
4th= 7 points
5th = 6 points
6th = 5 points
7th= 4 points
8th= 3 points
9th= 2 points
10th= 1 point
Failure to participate = 0 points The teams with the most points for all meets shall be champion.

8.2 Divisions of competition will be: Boys Girls Varsity Varsity Frosh/Soph Frosh/Soph

Section 9 - Playoffs

9.1 Number qualifying for participation in the playoff shall be determined by the Section.
9.2 League may use any method for determining qualifiers in each event.

Section 10 - Rain Outs and Make ups

10.1 One day for making up rained out meets will be built into the league schedule.
10.1.1 The host school shall make the determination of the playability of the field

10.2 If there is more than one rain out, one make up meet will be run.

Section 11 - Conduct of League Meets

11.1 All competitors shall wear a school issued uniform at all times while competing, or in the competition area. In appropriate attire or removing part of the uniform will result in disqualification for the remainder of the meet.
11.2 All athletes must be signed in to field events before the start of the first race. No late entries will be permitted.
11.3 There is no limit to the number of entrants in dual meets. Where there are multiple heats, the first runner from each school shall be placed in the first heat. A clerk of the course shall assign all other runners to a heat and lane. All participants will be timed and places awarded on the basis of fastest time.

11.4 The order for running events shall follow the order used in the Section Meet.
11.5 Each school shall provide at least two qualified officials to be assigned by the host school. These officials may be coaches.

Section 12 - Conduct of Conference Meet

12.1 Schools wishing to host the meet will submit a bid to the league representative. The league representative will select the host most capable of producing a quality event. In the event there are multiple bids from qualified schools, the event will be rotated.
12.1.1 The League meet shall be run on the campus of a school belonging to the CVC.
12.1.2 Any profit from the operation of the meet will be retained by the host school. Any loss incurred in the operation of the meet will be the responsibility of the host school.
12.2 A seeding meeting will be held prior to the League Meet at a time and place arranged by the host school. Revised February 9, 2005
12.2.1 All entries will be submitted by their coaches at this meeting, including the names of the four (4) individuals participating in relay events.
12.2.2 When this meeting is over, no additional entries will be accepted.
2.2.3 For purposes of determining number of events entered, a competitor shall be considered an entrant when his/her coach places his/her name on the list of entries. Competitors are restricted to four events, including relays. If a competitor enters five events they are disqualified from all events entered.
12.2.4 All pertinent information about the conduct of the league meet will be present to coaches at this meetings in writing, include weigh in times, match times, parking, locker facilities, admission prices, and any rules unique to this meet.
12.3 Once entered competitors must compete in the event. If they fail to compete or they fail to make an honest effort they are disqualified for all events they have entered. In the case of an illness or injury a competitor would keep any places and points earned and would not be required to compete. however they could not participate in any other event for the remainder of the meet.
12.4 A qualified starter will be used.
12.5 All competitors shall wear a school issued uniform at all times while competing, or in the competition area. Not wearing the appropriate attire or removing part of the uniform will result in disqualification for the remainder of the meet.

Section 13 - All Conference Selection

13.1 All-conference honors will be awarded to the first three finishers in each event in varsity competition.

13.2 Type of Award: 1st through 3rd Place = Medal and an All-Conference Patch to the first place finisher

13.3 The host school shall be forward All-conference results to the league commissioner for distribution to the media.
13.4 No awards or all conference recognition shall occur below the varsity level.
