ARTICLE VIII

Section 1 - Starting Date

The first day of practice is determined by the Section.

Section 2 - Official Rules

2.1 The official rule book shall be the National Federation Rules for Swimming and Diving.

Section 3 - Contacts

3.1 The number of contacts allowed is determined by the Section.

Section 4 - Meet Times

4.1 For dual meets During Standard Time - 3:30 During Day Light Saving Time - 4:00

Section 5 - Meet Results

5.1 The winning school shall be responsible to notify the media and league representative with meet results.

Section 6 - Change in Classification

6.1 During pre-league games athletes may move from one classification to another. In league play a player may move only to a higher classification, which is established at the first league contest. An athlete may not participate in more than one classification in one day.

Section 7 - Schedule and Roster Exchange

7.1 A meeting shall be called by the sports coordinator no later than one week prior to the start of league play.
7.1.1 Rosters of all school teams shall be exchanged by the coaches at this meeting. Information to include players name, jersey number and year in school.
7.1.2 Complete season schedules shall be exchanged by the coaches at this meeting.
7.2 Failure of a coach to submit a roster will result in forfeiture of all games played until the roster is turned into the sports coordinator.

Section 8 - Championship

8.1 Competing schools will earn one (1) point for each school defeated in the dual meets and one (1) point for each team defeated in the league meet. The champion shall be the varsity team with the highest point total. No championship will be recognized below the varsity level.
8.2 Divisions of competition will be:
Boys - Varsity & Frosh/Soph Girls - Varsity & Frosh/Soph

Section 9 - Section Level Competition

9.1 The procedure for qualifying for participation in the post season shall be determined by the Section.

Section 10 - Conduct of dual Meets

10.1 Each school shall provide at least one (1) stroke and turn judge and one (1) diving judge.
10.1.1 Judges shall be qualified by the league representative prior to the first competition.

Section 11 - Conduct of League Meet

11.1 Schools wishing to host the meet will submit a bid to the league representative. The league representative will select the host most capable of producing a quality event. In the event there are multiple bids from qualified schools, the event will be rotated.
11.1.1 The League meet shall be run on the campus of a school belonging to the CVC.
11.1.2 Any profit from the operation of the meet shall belong to and be retained by the host school. Any loss incurred in the operation of the meet shall be the responsibility of the host school.
11.2 A seeding meeting chaired by the host school will be held two weeks prior to the League Meet at a time and place arranged by the host school.
11.2.1 All entries will be submitted by their coaches at this meeting, including the names of the four (4) individuals participating in relay events, and up to four (4) alternates.
11.2.2 When the seeding meeting is over, no additional entries will be accepted.
11.2.3 All pertinent information about the conduct of the league meet will be presented to coaches at this meeting in writing, including, place and time for the trial and finals, warm up times, parking, locker facilities, admission prices, and any rules unique to this meet.
11.3 Each school shall provide at least three (3) timers and one (1) qualified stroke and turn judge in addition to any other duties assigned by the host school. If participating in diving at least one (1) qualified diving judge must be provided.
11.4 Finals shall include six (6) consolation finalists and six (6) finalists. Consolation finalist may not score above finalists for points or awards.
11.5 The host school shall be responsible for transmitting the results of the league meet to the media and league representative.
11.6 The league representative shall maintain and keep current league meet records for the four divisions.
11.6.1 League records may only be established at the League Meet.
11.6.2 A frosh/soph record may be established only by a freshman or a sophomore. They may establish a record while competing in varsity competition. If a freshman or sophomore does set a league meet record while competing in the varsity division the athlete’s coach must notify the league representative within thirty (30) minutes after the announcement of the official time or the record will be negated.

Section 12 - All Conference Selection

12.1 All-conference honors will be awarded to the first three finishers in each event.
12.2 Type of Award: 1st through 3rd Places will be awarded a medal; An All-Conference patch will be awarded the individual champion

12.3 The host school shall be forward All-conference results to the league commissioner for distribution to the media.
12.4 No all conference team shall be selected below the varsity level.
