Section 1 - Starting Date
The first day of practice is determined by the Section.

Section 2 - Official Rules
2.1 The official rule book shall be the National Federation of State High School Association rule book., or rules designated by CIF.
Section 3 - Official Ball
3.1 Any regulation high grade optic yellow leather ball may be used in league play.
3.2 Two (2) new optic yellow game balls shall be provided by the home team.
Section 4 - Contacts
4.1 The number of contacts allowed is determined by the Section.

4.2 A maximum of three (3) tournaments will be allowed.
4.3 A maximum of two scrimmages is permissible prior to the first game. Scrimmages held after the first game shall be counted as a contact.
Section 5 - Game Times
5.1 During Standard Time - 3:30
During Day Light Saving Time - 4:00
5.2 Length of Games.5.2.1 Varsity games shall be seven (7) innings. A game will be terminated anytime after five innings when a team is ahead by ten or more runs, provided the losing team has completed its turn at bat.5.2.2 Frosh/Soph games shall have a two hour time limit. No new inning shall begin after two (2) hours.
Section 6 - Game Results
6.1 The winning school shall be responsible to notify the media with game results, and overall records of both teams.
Section 7 - Change in Classification
7.1 During pre-league games athletes may move from one classification to another. In league play a player may move only to a higher classification. An athlete may not participate in more than one classification in one day.
Section 8 - Schedule and Roster Exchange
8.1 A meeting shall be called by the sports coordinator no later than one week prior to the start of league play.8.1.1 Rosters of all school teams shall be exchanged by the coaches at this meeting. Information to include players name, jersey number and year in school.8.1.2 Complete season schedules shall be exchanged by the coaches at this meeting.
8.2 Failure of a coach to submit a roster will result in forfeiture of all games played until the roster is turned into the sports coordinator.
Section 9 - Championship
9.1 The varsity team with the greatest number of wins in league competition shall be designated as League Champion. In the event of a tie, all teams tied for the best records shall be recognized as League Champions. No champion will be recognized below the varsity level.
Section 10 - Playoffs
10.1 The number of teams qualifying for participation in the playoff shall be determined by the Section.
10.2 Tie Breakers10.2.1 Two way tie for first - 2 qualify for Playoffs10.2.1.1 The team with the best record in head to head competition will be awarded the higher seed.10.2.1.2 If head to head competition is equal, a game will be played at a neutral site with the winner being awarded the higher seed.10.2.2 Three way tie for first - 2 qualify for Playoffs.10.2.2.1 If in head to head competition one has the best record and the other teams are tied, the team with the best record will be awarded the higher seed. The remaining teams will play a game at a neutral site to determine the final seed.10.2.2.2 If in head to head competition two teams are tied and the other team has a poorer record (example 3-1, 3-1 & 0-4), team with the poorer record is eliminated. The remaining teams will play a game at a neutral site to determine the higher seed.10.2.2.3 If in head to head competition teams are ranked (example: 3-1, 2-2, 1-3), the team with the best record will be awarded the higher seed, the second best record the second seed and the last team will be eliminated.10.2.2.4 If head to head competition is equal, a three way coin flip will be held to determine the higher seed. The “odd man” will advance to the playoffs and may select either the one or two seed. The two remaining teams will play a game at a neutral site to determine the other qualifier.10.2.3 Two way tie for second, 2 qualify for playoffs, the two teams will play a game at a neutral site to determine the qualifier.10.2.4 Three way tie for second, 2 qualify for playoffs10.2.4.1 A three way coin flip will be held. “Odd man” will receive a bye, the remaining teams will play a game at a neutral site. The winner of the game will play another game with the bye team within 30 minutes following the conclusion of the first game. Winner of the last game will advance to the playoffs.
Section 11 - Rain Outs, Ties and Suspended Games
11.1 The home team will cancel games by 12:00 Noon if the field is unplayable and as soon a possible in the case of inclement weather.
11.2 Playability of field before the games starts is the responsibility of the home school.
11.3 Rained out games shall be made up one the next available date. League games must take precedent over practice games.
11.4 In the event of multiple ties rain outs, whenever possible the first rained out game should be played first.
11.5 A tie game shall be considered a suspended game. Suspended games shall be completed the next time the two teams meet. The tied or suspended game shall be played first. If it is the last regularly scheduled game or if there are no remaining games between the schools, the game will be completed only if it has a bearing on the league championship or playoff berths.11.5.1 Only players on the roster at the time a game was suspended may participate in the completion of that game. Players who were on the roster but are not academically eligible at the time of the make up may not participate.
Section 12 - Miscellaneous - Activity Specific
12.1 The visiting team shall have at least fifteen (15) minutes to warm up prior to the start of the game.
12.2 The home team shall provide the official score keeper.12.2.1 Home and visiting scorekeepers must meet to verify rulings and statistics during and after the game. Both books must agree.12.2.2 Coaches must verify statistics before they are released to the media.
12.3 All fields shall be prepared in accordance with National Federation Rules.
12.4 There will be at least two (2) umpires for varsity games and one (1) umpire for Frosh/Soph games.12.4.1 In the event only one umpire is available for a varsity game, the game may be played if both coaches agree.
Section 13 - All Conference Selection
13.1 The softball coordinator shall call a meeting for Monday evening following the completion of the league season . Coaches shall be informed of the meeting, time and location at least a week in advance. Notification shall be by phone or Email.

13.2 Schools will be awarded positions on the All Conference team in accordance to their finish in League competition. Each school will make their own determination as to who will be placed on the All Conference team. The number of positions shall be as follows:

13.3 Eighteen (18) players will be selected, including (1) MVP.
13.4 A ballot shall be taken to name the MVP. Each school shall have one vote to name the MVP from those selected to be on the All-Conference team. A school may vote for its candidate. Only one (1) MVP shall be named. Revised: April 19, 2007
13.5 Each school will receive two honorable mention positions.

13.6 All conference selections shall be forwarded to the league commissioner for distribution to the media.
13.7 No all conference team shall be selected below the varsity level.
