ARTICLE VI

Section 1 - Starting Date

1.1 The first day of practice is determined by the Section.

Section 2 - Official Rules

2.1 The official rule book shall be the National Federation of State High School Association rule book and the FIFA rule book. In those areas where conflict occurs, the National Federation Rule book takes precedence.

Section 3 - Official Ball

3.1 The official ball shall be any high grade regulation ball.

Section 4 - Contacts

4.1 The number of contacts allowed is determined by the Section.

4.2 A maximum of three (3) tournaments will be allowed.
4.3 A maximum of two scrimmages is permissible prior to the first game. Scrimmages held after the first game shall be counted as a contact.

Section 5 - Game Times

5.1 Day games.
During Standard Time - 3:30
During Day Light Saving Time - 4:00
5.2 Night games.
5:00 - Fr/Soph
6:30 - Varsity
5.3 Schools with facilities to play two games may choose to play Varsity and Fr/Soph games simultaneously.

Section 6 - Game Results

6.1 The home school shall be responsible to notify the media with game results.

Section 7 - Change in Classification

7.1 During pre-league games athletes may move from one classification to another. In league play a player may move only to a higher classification. An athlete may not participate in more than one classification in one day.

Section 8 - Schedule and Roster Exchange

8.1 A meeting shall be called by the sports coordinator no later than one week prior to the start of league play.
8.1.1 Rosters of all school teams shall be exchanged by the coaches at this meeting. Information to include players name, jersey number and year in school.
8.1.2 Complete season schedules shall be exchanged by the coaches at this meeting
8.2 Failure of a coach to submit a roster will result in forfeiture of all games played until the roster is turned into the sports coordinator.

Section 9 - Championship

9.1 The League championship will be awarded to the team who finishes the year with the most points. No champion will be recognized below the varsity level.
9.2 Teams are awarded points in the following manner: Win = 2 points Tie = 1 point Loss = 0 points

Section 10 - Playoffs

10.1 The number of teams qualifying for participation in the playoff shall be determined by the Section.
10.2 Tie Breaker
10.2.1 If a tie exists, either for the last qualifying berth or for the higher seed, head to head competition shall be used to break the tie with the team with the best record being awarded the higher seed or qualifying berth.
10.2.2 If the tie can not be broken by head to head competition, an additional qualifying game shall be played, with the winner being awarded the higher seed or qualifying berth.
10.2.2.1 The game shall be played on a neutral site. A coin flip will determine which coach/school will arrange for the neutral site, request officials and secure event security.

Section 11 - Miscellaneous - Activity Specific

11.1 Team areas shall be located on opposite sides of the field.
11.2 Number of Officials
11.2.1 All varsity games shall have at least two (2) officials.
11.2.2 With mutual agreement of both coaches a game may be played with one (1) official.
11.2.3 Fr/Soph games may be played with one (1) official.

Section 12 - All Conference Selection

12.1 The soccer coordinator shall call a meeting for Monday evening following the completion of the league season . Coaches, and the designated Principal shall be informed of the meeting, time and location at least a week in advance. Notification shall be by phone and in writing.

12.2 Schools will be awarded positions on the All Conference team in accordance to their finish in League competition. Each school will make their own determination as to who will be placed on the All Conference team. The number of positions shall be as follows:

12.3 Eighteen (18) players will be selected, including (1) MVP.

12.4 A ballot shall be taken to name the MVP. Each school shall have one vote to name the MVP from those selected to be on the All-Conference team. A school may vote for its candidate. Only one (1) MVP shall be named.

12.5 Each school will receive two honorable mention positions.

12.6 All conference selections shall be forwarded to the league commissioner for distribution to the media.
12.7 No all conference team shall be selected below the varsity level.
