ATHLETIC DIRECTOR MEETING

CALL TO ORDER

Meeting called to order at 8:35 AM

Meeting called to order at 8:35 AM

MINUTES

Minutes of the September meeting as posted on the web site were approved.

PUBLIC COMMENT

No members of the public were present.

OLD BUSINESS

Al Hooker reported that all schools have paid their league dues.

The boys golf schedule was approved to be sent to the Athletic Board for final approval.

Bill Lum and Mike Morris expressed concern about being billed for a share of the cost of the league cross country meet. They were not informed ahead of time and had no input. They matter will be forwarded to the January meeting of the Athletic Board.

NEW BUSINESS

A discussion about medals given to Frosh/Soph finishers at the Cross Country League meet concluded with a position that the league by-laws specifically forbid any awards below the varsity level.

A long discussion of the 2009 Football schedule was held. Cosumnes and Antelope are not able to schedule games. The coaches at these two schools are trying to arrange games between our opponent in weeks 4 & 5 to clear the way for a 7 game league schedule.

SECTION ITEMS

A rule to allow Filming at football games will be introduced to be effective next year.

The Section will offer Boys Volleyball Playoffs & a Girls invitational Wrestling Tournament next year.

Realignment Meetings will be held on the following dates, all ADs are encouraged to attend.
Wednesday, January 7 Wednesday, January 28
Wednesday, February 18
Wednesday, March 11
Wednesday, April 1 (if necessary)

STATE ITEMS

Expansion of the state football playoffs CIF Office to move to Sacramento Restructure of Sections Statewide Coaching Certification - penalty for non-compliance Nor-Cal basketball brackets to be expanded to 16 teams

OTHER ITEMS

Foothill and West Campus will not field girls frosh basketball teams this year. The League Web site has exceeded 3,100 hits since being posted last spring. The standings in the All Sport Competition through the end of fall sports was distributed. Fall Championship Pennants were given to the following schools:
Cross Country, boys Center Cross Country, girls West Campus Golf , girls Dixon Football Dixon Soccer, boys River City Volleyball Dixon
