All members of the board were asked to introduce themselves and give a brief background of the experience.
MINUTES
Approval of minutes as posted on the league web site.
FINANCIAL REPORT
The financial report was given by Al Hooker. The 2007-08 Operating Budget for the league was approved Invoices for 2007-08 league dues were distributed. Payment is due and payable before mid September.
PUBLIC COMMENT
No members of the public were present.
GUEST COMMENTS
John Williams spoke about Section matters and gave an explanation of the new transfer eligibility policy enacted by State CIF.
CONSENT CALENDAR
The Wrestling Schedule submitted by the coaches was approved.
OLD BUSINESS
After a long discussion it was decided by a 2-1 vote (involved schools were not permitted a vote) to recognize Rio Linda as co-champs in softball for 2007. Athletic Directors having a home soccer match on the last day of the season were directed to change the final game for boy’s soccer (in most cases one day earlier) to finish on the Section’s mandated finishing date.
NEW BUSINESS
Steve Theissen, Center Principal, was elected to serve the remaining one year term as Vice President for Tom Herman and then will serve as President. Inserts for students selected to all conference teams were eliminated. A reminder that the voting Representative Form, and the Eligibility/By Law 501.5 Form must be returned to the Section Office.
SECTION & STATE ITEMS
Model Coach nominations will be considered by the league at the October meeting.
