FOR
PUBLIC ADDRESS ANNOUNCERS




Public Address announcers have the responsibility to adhere to the highest standards of sportsmanship. Their purpose is to announce factual information in a non partisan fashion. REMEMBER SPECTATORS ON BOTH SIDES WILL HEAR YOUR COMMENTS.

It is not acceptable to:
Question decisions by the game officials, simply announce the penalty or foul.
Question the coaches decisions or strategies.
Make public comment about the performance of any participant, good or bad.
Make play by play commentary as done on radio, which includes excited screaming when the home teams does something good.



SPORTSMANSHIP ANNOUNCEMENT

TO BE READ PRIOR TO THE GAME

1. Welcome to tonight’s contest.
2. This game, under authority of the Sac Joaquin Section and the Capital Valley Conference, will be played under the strictest code of sportsmanship.
3. Game officials are neutral persons who represent the CIF. They have been certified by the NCOA and have been selected because of their demonstrated ability.
4. These are high school athletes who are performing here tonight. They are friendly rivals as members of opposing teams. They are not enemies.
5. Rooters are encouraged to support their own teams but are requested to refrain from booing the opponents or the official’s decisions.
6. Enjoy the game and remember, everyone who performs here tonight is a winner.
